MICROS Systems, Inc. for years was providing its customers with a training module developed in Authorware and distributed on CD-ROM. This solution may have worked in some instances but MICROS was selling licenses to each CD-ROM and had no real way of tracking user completion nor enforcing licensing agreements. MICROS customers could have purchased one license and then duplicated the CD. This process was very antiquated and did not allow for MICROS to manage its training program effectively. Not to mention, the cost to revise the training every time a new software release was rolled out. In mid 2008, MICROS Systems, Inc. contracted the Venza Group to convert the CD-ROM into 5 hours of eLearning for deployment across the web. This solution enabled MICROS Systems to maintain control of its content and provide a simple means to update content with ease. The Venza Group was provided Captivate recordings and PowerPoint presentations to extract all the media assets individually and dynamically load them on the screen during runtime using Adobe Flash. The Venza Group completed this engagement in February 2009 and continues to provide services to MICROS Systems.
