Brew-B-Que: VENZA’s 6th Annual Charity Event Benefiting ECPAT-USA

(Atlanta, GA – August 3rd, 2013) Brew-B-Que, the Venza Group’s 6th Annual Charity Event, was the largest charity event in company history. When CEO Jeff Venza and COO Daniel Johnson of the Venza Group heard that Atlanta is the #1 hub in the United States for human trafficking and child sex exploitation, it became an easy decision as to what cause would be supported in this year’s charity fundraiser. The Venza Group team chose ECPAT-USA, an organization dedicated to ending child prostitution and trafficking in the US, as the beneficiary after meeting one of their team members at the Hospitality Lawyer Conference in Houston, TX earlier this year.

When choosing to support an organization fighting crime in their backyards of Atlanta, GA, the Venza Group chose to keep the venue, band and cuisine local as well. The event took place at SweetWater Brewery’s Reel Room located in the heart of midtown Atlanta. Guests enjoyed the unpasteurized and aggressive West Coast brewing style of SweetWater brews while nibbling on BBQ from Atlanta barbeque caterer Jim ‘N Nicks. The Deadfields, a homegrown Georgia bluegrass band, provided the entertainment for the evening. Brew-B-Que guests also enjoyed brewery tours to see where all of the magic happens in creating a SweetWater beverage, and even took home custom glassware designed for the event.

Each year, the Venza Group has a long list of people to thank for another successful charity event. This year was no different. Atlanta-based companies that came together to support this cause included Genesee General, Cendyn, Agilysys, Hospitality Upgrade Magazine, Arnall Golden Gregory LLP, Jim ‘N Nicks, Peachtree Tents & Events, White Dog Studios, Small Business Access Partners, Sicurix, Delta Airlines and Trinity Press.

Through sponsorships, personal donations and participation in the “Giving Tree” raffle for two Delta Airline tickets, 140 guests came together to raise $8,960.65 for ECPAT-USA. With a one-for-one match offered by a long-time supporter of ECPAT-USA, the Venza Group’s 6th Annual Charity Event raised a total of $17,921.30 for the organization.
