VENZA to Host Security Boot Camp at 2017 HITEC

(Atlanta, GA – June 2017) VENZA® will be hosting the HITEC Security Boot Camp entitled “Your Cyber Attack Could Be Coming Tomorrow” on Monday, June 26, from 8:00-11:00 am at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), taking place in Toronto, Canada, June 26-29, 2017. In addition, ten members of the VENZA team will be on hand at booth #1023 to answer questions and discuss the company’s latest expansion plans.

Produced by Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), a global nonprofit hospitality association headquartered in Austin, TX, HITEC offers a combination of top-notch education, and brings together the brightest minds and hottest technologies from across the globe for an annual four-day conference. For example, HFTP’s Monday morning Security Boot Camp will include the following four industry-expert panelists: Hiranya Maru (Marriott International), Jeremy Rock (RockIT Group), Bryan Steele (Jireh-Tek-Limited) and VENZA’s Daniel Johnson.

“This conference began in 1972, when hospitality technology involved little more than electronic cash registers,” said Daniel Johnson. “Today, it serves as a vehicle for distributing the most innovative products and services to the industry worldwide. The technological challenges faced by the hospitality industry are now more complex than ever, and as a leading provider of data security programs, we view this event as an opportunity to help, inform, and guide.”

VENZA will also be presenting a Tech Talk, titled “330 Days to GDPR Enforcement: What You Need to Know.” This discussion will take place at the HFTP Booth (#1137) on Tuesday, June 27, from 11:00-11:15 am and will detail how organizations could be affected by this new law, scheduled to be implemented on May 25, 2018.

“The GDPR extends the scope of the EU data protection law to all foreign companies processing data of EU residents,” said VENZA President/CEO, Jeff Venza. “This new law harmonizes data protection regulations throughout the EU and comes with severe penalties for non-compliance. It’s critical that hospitality understands the implications. We are excited to offer this talk to help organizations prepare for the upcoming change.”
