VENZA Champions Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023

VENZA, the leading provider of data protection and regulatory compliance solutions for the hospitality industry, today announced that it has signed on as Champion for Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2023.

Now celebrating its 20th anniversary, Cybersecurity Awareness Month, held each October, is the world’s foremost initiative aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices. The Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champions Program is a collaborative effort among businesses, government agencies, colleges and universities, associations, nonprofit organizations and individuals committed to the Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme of ‘It’s easy to stay safe online.’

“Cybersecurity Awareness Month is an important reminder of the persistent threat of malicious actors online,” said David Christiansen, Chief Information Officer at VENZA. “This is a known fact within our industry, but that needs to be widely heard by the business community and public. VENZA is proud to support this effort as a 2023 Champion.”

From mobile to connected home devices, technology is becoming more intertwined with our lives every day. While technology evolution is moving at the speed of sound, cybercriminals are working just as hard to find ways to compromise it and disrupt personal and business life. Cybersecurity Awareness Month aims to highlight emerging challenges and provide actionable guidance that anyone can follow to create a secure digital world.

This year, the Cybersecurity Awareness Month’s focal areas revolve around four key behaviors:

●            Using strong passwords and a password manager.

●            Turning on multifactor authentication.

●            Recognizing and reporting phishing.

●            Updating software.

Founded in 2004, Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum with the goal of providing everyone the information they need to stay safe online. VENZA is proud to support this far-reaching online safety awareness and education initiative, co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
