VENZA Expands Risk/Compliance Team Focusing on Pen Testing

VENZA, the leading provider of data protection and regulatory compliance solutions for the hospitality industry, today announced the significant expansion of its leading Risk/Compliance Team with a major focus on expanding its capabilities for quick, effective delivery of Pen Testing as a Service (PTaaS).

“With the growing prevalence of digital threats, we’ve seen major interest in our clients for comprehensive data protection offerings,” said Dominique Williams, Director of Operations at VENZA. “Alongside our industry-standard security awareness training and VENZA Phishing™ products, hoteliers have sought software and network-based solutions like pen testing. Our Risk/Compliance Team has provided exceptional service in this area and today’s announcement reflects our belief in the growing value of this product.”

As part of the expansion, two VENZA Security Analysts will be joining the VENZA Pen Test team: Edgar Ayala and Bill D’Argis. Both are hospitality veterans with deep technology and compliance experience. They join a group headed by Daniel Santiago, Pen Test Lead, and under the supervision of David Christiansen, Chief Technology Officer at VENZA.

PTaaS uses simulated cyberattacks against client computer systems to locate and test vulnerabilities. Using the same techniques as cybercriminals, VENZA’s in-house ethical hackers deploy a variety of state-of-the-art techniques to catalog and report clients’ points of weakness and provide recommendations for remediation. To provide comprehensive assessments, VENZA offers both external and internal pen testing. As a unique benefit, recipients of VENZA PTaaS also receive monthly automated recurring re-tests at no additional cost.

“Because pen testing is comprehensive—examining all aspects of an organization’s IT infrastructure—and extends beyond identifying vulnerabilities to testing them to see how far they penetrate networks, the tool is widely considered to be the single best solution for broadly assessing and improving a cybersecurity posture,” said Williams. “We’re very excited to grow our product offerings in this area and continue to deliver unparalleled value to our clients.”
